Kyoto, Japan – March 7, 2024 – SCREEN Holdings Co., Ltd. has been selected as one of the Top 100 Global Innovators for 2024 by Clarivate. Based on Clarivate’s analysis of patent data, SCREEN has been recognized as one of the world’s most innovative companies or institutions. This is the third time SCREEN has received this award, continued since 2022.

Clarivate creates its list of the top 100 global innovators from patent data it possesses as one of the world’s leading information services companies. To compile this list, it analyzes and evaluates trends in intellectual property (IP) for companies and institutions in every country and region.

The evaluation process employs a two-step approach. Clarivate first identifies entities that (i) have filed at least 500 patent applications since 2000 and (ii) have at least 100 inventions for which they have successfully registered patents in the preceding five years, and evaluates these companies based on the proportion and the scale of international inventions. It then assesses each of these inventions and determines the overall score based on four main factors: Influence, Success, Investment and Rarity.

SCREEN has continuously sought to create and develop new products and businesses based on its core technological strengths founded over many decades. It has developed an IP strategy, based on the comprehensive analysis of both in-house and external IP data, to build a business portfolio that reflects market trends in its diverse business fields. It continues to make efforts to enhance its IP assets by pursuing IP initiatives that are closely linked to each of its business and R&D fields.
