Kyoto, Japan - February 24, 2017 - SCREEN Holdings Co., Ltd. announces that it has spun off the semiconductor division from SCREEN HD Korea Co., Ltd. (Seoul), a group company, and established SCREEN SPE Korea Co., Ltd., in Yongin City with the aim of strengthening sales and maintenance systems for our semiconductor equipment business in Korea. The new stand-alone company will begin operations on April 1, 2017.

In recent years, the semiconductor industry has experienced growing demand for semiconductor devices against a backdrop of expanding markets such the development of smartphones, the growth of big data, and the acceleration of the Internet of Things (IoT). Semiconductor manufacturers have accelerated the pace of ongoing capital investment, and this, in turn, demands that suppliers of related production equipment strengthen their systems for sales and on-site maintenance services to be able to respond quickly with the highest level of quality.

Newly established SCREEN SPE Korea will be a dedicated company responsible for sales and maintenance services in Korea for semiconductor production equipment handled by SCREEN Semiconductor Solutions Co., Ltd. It will be working to strengthen equipment sales and support functions with the aim of further improving the quality of service to our customers in Korea as well as further boost customer satisfaction.
