Kyoto, Japan – December 9, 2020 – SCREEN Semiconductor Solutions Co., Ltd. (SCREEN SPE) has been honored with the “Excellent Production Support Award” at the annual Supply Chain Management Forum by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, Ltd. (TSMC), the world’s largest semiconductor manufacturing foundry (Headquarters: Hsinchu, Taiwan; Chairman: Dr. Mark Liu).

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the forum suspended the main session and award ceremony this year. However, under strict anti-pandemic measures, TSMC held sessions on spare parts, facilities, information technology, and advanced packaging, meeting in conjunction with the third Responsible Supply Chain Forum to discuss key topics for the semiconductor industry. TSMC also expressed its sincere appreciation to all suppliers at the forum, and will present its “Excellent Performance Award” to 15 outstanding equipment, facilities, materials, and IT service suppliers in recognition of their contributions.

SCREEN SPE received its Excellent Production Support Award in recognition of the reliability it demonstrated in delivering a range of cleaning systems essential to semiconductor device manufacturing with only a short lead time. This effort helped TSMC to remain on track to achieve a major expansion of production capacity it had been planning. In addition, SCREEN SPE’s work to enable the localization of resources necessary for installation and adjustment of the systems, despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, made it possible for TSMC to ramp up its advanced device manufacturing lines according to its initial schedule.

SCREEN SPE was the first recipient of the TSMC Supply Chain Management Forum “Supplier Achievement Award” for Environmental Excellence in the year 2011 and won the “Excellent Performance Award” in the years of 2015 and 2018. SCREEN SPE’s single wafer cleaning systems have been praised for their advanced cleaning technologies, which significantly improve yield rates for the production of cutting-edge nanoscale devices, and the substantial reductions in environmental impact they enable.
