DP-i3000/3000s inkjet printing systems for tablets

Advanced inkjet technologies for tablet printing

Pharmaceuticals and their applications are continually evolving. This has created a need for increasingly accurate identification of tablets to improve management and prevent accidental ingestion.
Our DP-i3000 and 3000s inkjet systems for tablets combine the latest developments in both printing and inspection technologies. These advances allow them to seamlessly handle uncoated and oral disintegrating tablets, as well as film and sugar coated tablets.

The systems provide a range of high-quality, value adding features, including parallel printing on both sides of tablets along scored lines and simultaneous multicolor printing. The resulting tablets are easily identifiable, and more easily handled by dispensing facilities.
The DP-i3000 and 3000s deliver tablet printing of truly outstanding quality.

Features

Optimal quality and legibility from data creation through to printing

Both systems are equipped with piezo inkjet technology that delivers sharp 600 dpi print quality. The DP-i3000s can be fitted with two different printheads while the DP-i3000 has space for up to four. These heads allow them to perform either two or full color simultaneous printing on tablet surfaces.

Each system is also able to perform parallel printing on both sides of tablets using a center scored line as a reference. Printing is automatically adjusted to match the orientation and angle of each surface.

Specially developed inks that provide total support for tablet printing systems

The DP-i3000 and 3000s incorporate a range of proprietary technologies developed to maintain stable, high-quality application of inks.

Either pigment or dye inks can be selected depending on the tablet type. Automatic tuning of these inks and their printheads also keeps them in optimal condition, ensuring consistently sharp print quality.

Precise inspection using high-resolution cameras

The original design data can be used to perform highly accurate visual inspection for issues such as misalignment, spattering and partial printing. This inspection also includes the sides of tablets, significantly improving quality control of printing.
