SCREEN Graphic and Precision Solutions Co., Ltd. (SCREEN GP, President Katsuhiko Aoki) will be participating in the International Graphic Arts Show 2015 (IGAS 2015), to be held at Tokyo Big Sight in Ariake, Tokyo from September 11 (Friday) to 16 (Wednesday). Focusing on a theme of "Achieve the Extraordinary in Print", SCREEN GP will present a range of new solutions that are designed to transform the printing industry's current business model.
In recent years, with the rapid expansion of the Internet and social networking, the relative added value of print media has declined. Until recently, the printing industry has operated on various assumed fundamental concepts, including the use of large-scale, uniform print runs, the value of print media, the separation of paper and digital media roles, and the communication method with clients. However, to regain the added value of print media, it must now rapidly transform these preconceptions.
In line with its "Achieve the Extraordinary in Print" theme, SCREEN GP will exhibit an extensive range of fully formed solutions at IGAS 2015. They will include how to use the latest POD systems in diversified and small lot printing, security printing and full color variable printing, techniques for improving the value of print media using digital cutting and embossing systems, and the utilization of marketing automation services. These solutions will enable the development of timely and effective promotions as well as increases in the efficiency of production workflows.
■ Truepress Jet520HD
The Truepress Jet520HD will make its Japan debut at IGAS. This high-performance system offers quality approaching offset printing and high-speed, full-color variable output. SCREEN GP will introduce features including the small lot book solution linked with the Web job submission system and postpress devices, and variable data creation system. It will also present the one–to-one direct mail creation solution, which links with marketing automation and other services.
■ Truepress Jet L350UV
The Truepress Jet L350UV is a UV inkjet label printing system that enables full-color variable printing with industry-leading productivity and image quality. SCREEN GP will explain how the system prints variable data by linking with PDFormstudio and the use of color codes and other items in security printing. It will also introduce the total flow from printing to converting that can be achieved when the JetConverter L350 postpress system is connected inline with the Truepress Jet L350UV. The JetConverter L350 is also making its Japan debut at IGAS.
■ Truepress Jet W3200UV
The latest model of the Truepress Jet W3200UV, equipped with a Roll2Roll unit, will also be unveiled at IGAS. This combination enables rapid, high-quality, cost-efficient printing on a variety of media. A single system is now capable of providing all types of display items for stores ranging from POP materials and signs to outdoor advertising and billboards. Various materials actually used by businesses and samples of large-sized trick backlighting will be available for inspection.
■ EQUIOS workflow
SCREEN GP will introduce EQUIOS 4.5, the newest version of SCREEN's universal workflow system, at IGAS. The latest edition offers enhanced process automation thanks to its improved automatic imposition functions and linking with toner-based POD systems. The presentation will also highlight the improved communication possible between printing companies and their clients using the new workflow provided by version 3.0 of EQUIOS Online, SCREEN's online job submission, proofing and approval system.
The PlateRite 4600 thermal plate recorder is another system making its debut at IGAS. It features newly developed exposure heads with fiber laser diodes and is capable of processing up to 33 plates every hour.
■ Added value solutions
The motioncutter digital cutting system and Scodix Ultra digital embossing system will also be seen for the first time in Japan at IGAS. SCREEN GP will explain how the special processing provided by these units significantly enhances the range of expression possible with paper media.
■ Support solutions
TRUST Network Service is an online program that combines with onsite services to provide a comprehensive support structure for equipment, ensuring reliable operation after installation. This two-fold approach optimizes production and creates a solid foundation for operation.
■ CMS solutions
IGAS will also provide an opportunity to see TRUST Profiler for the first time in Japan. This cloud-based software uses an advanced feedback system to provide highly accurate color adjustment between individual devices. In this presentation, SCREEN GP will also introduce the advantages provided by version 2.22 of LabProof SE. This color management software helps to create a highly reliable proofing environment.
