Kyoto, Japan – April 18, 2024 – SCREEN Graphic Solutions Co., Ltd. (SCREEN GA) has been honored with a 2024 Technology Award by the Japanese Society of Printing Science and Technology (JSPST). The prize has gone to SCREEN GA’s Truepress LABEL 350UV series, a range of independently developed UV inkjet systems for label printing.

The JSPST presents these awards in February each year to recognize technologies that have made an outstanding contribution to the growth of the printing industry or to the development of applications for other fields. In making its selection, the JSPST considers points including the level of innovation, progress, marketability and expandability shown by each technology.

SCREEN GA’s advanced Truepress LABEL 350UV systems deliver superior productivity that enables them to meet the tight deadlines frequently required with small to medium lot work. In terms of printing quality, the series features a wide color gamut enhanced by orange and blue inks, highly stable color reproduction during repeat printing, and also easy touch screen operation for color matching and printing.

Truepress LABEL 350UV systems also use SCREEN GA’s Truepress ink LV02 range, which it has developed specifically to comply with increasingly stringent international regulations on ink composition. The systems are also compatible with the company’s proprietary high opacity white mode and fade-resistant yellow ink, allowing them to handle an even wider array of applications. This wealth of features has seen the series earn the trust of customers worldwide and during the period from its initial release in 2014 until 2022, SCREEN GA reported shipping a total of 200 systems.

When evaluating the candidates for this year’s awards, the judges praised the Truepress LABEL 350UV series’ outstanding contribution to the development of label printing technologies. They specifically cited its excellent productivity, quality and stability, as well as its ability to use low migration inks with reduced odor for food products plus orange and blue inks. They also noted its impressive range of features, including its variable printing functions designed for very small lot work, and SCREEN GA’s continuous development of new models.

This is in fact the fifth time in six years that SCREEN GA has received a JSPST award. Going forward, it plans to further accelerate its development of high-speed, superior quality inkjet technologies, solutions for production line automation and high-performance inks. Advances in these areas will reinforce its position as a leader in the UV inkjet label field and help it contribute to the continuing growth of the wider printing industry.

Label and package printing continue to expand, thanks to their use in producing daily necessities, but most of this work uses analog methods. Many issues need to be addressed in these fields as we try to achieve a sustainable society, including how to respond to its increasing diversity and reduce the amount of waste generated during production. At SCREEN GA, we hope to contribute to the transformation of society through the promotion of digital printing, which offers both environmental and economic advantages.
Our Truepress LABEL 350UV series has been widely praised by customers for the high throughput it offers when dealing with small to medium lot work on tight schedules, its faithful reproduction of colors for repeat jobs and its simple, intuitive operation. We are extremely happy the series has now received this award from JSPST as it truly validates the high level of its technology.
