SCREEN Truepress Jet520HD and Truepress Jet520NX High-speed Roll-fed Inkjet Presses to Feature Fully-native IPDS Controller from TagG

February 17, 2017

Kyoto, Japan - February 17, 2017 - SCREEN Graphic and Precision Solutions Co., Ltd. (SCREEN GP) is pleased to announce that it has partnered with TagG Informatique (TagG) to develop a fully-native IPDS controller for the latest high-speed inkjet presses, the Truepress Jet520HD and Truepress Jet520NX. This solution ensures complex variable data printing at high speed.

For many variable data/transactional applications, the ability to output AFP/IPDS is essential and TagG, France, specializes in building high-specification, super-fast controllers. The solution developed for SCREEN GP allows the Truepress roll-fed inkjet presses to run at full speed no matter how complex the data. A key feature is the ability to connect to existing legacy workflow and output management systems in a completely transparent way.
Another benefit is that users can also sit the TagG controller on the same server infrastructure as the SCREEN GP EQUIOS software. This combination will allow users to process both legacy AFP/IPDS as well as being able to use EQUIOS that incorporates Adobe PDF Print Engine as its RIP core when outputting PDF. Both data formats have benefits and the option for native output through a single controller provides the best of both worlds.
The IPDS controller is already available for the Truepress Jet520 and Truepress Jet520EX Monochrome models in the Truepress Jet520 series and will be released for the Truepress Jet520HD and Truepress Jet520NX models in later this year.
