In recent years, with the advancement of digitalization and networking in society, attention has turned to the use of printed materials in areas that digital media alone cannot adequately cover, as well as for enriching people’s daily lives and for environmentally friendly applications. More precisely, there is a requirement for printing processes that can deliver information to targeted individuals based on a range of data, and for personalized printing with a sense of exclusivity that can enhance sales promotion effects.
This trend is driving demand for high value added printed materials that can provide higher quality and productivity than ever before. To meet these market needs, SCREEN has created a wide selection of next-generation printing solutions that incorporate innovative inkjet technologies and integrated workflows.
Commercial, publication and transaction printing solutions
The commercial printing market is increasingly using promotional materials with content that is customized based on digital information, as well as marketing techniques that change this information in shorter cycles. Meanwhile, the publication market is transitioning away from conventional systems that result in a large amount of inventory waste to new systems that produce only the amount of stock needed. The transaction printing market is also seeing the adoption of digital presses due to their compatibility with digital data, however, even shorter delivery times are still required.
At this year’s PRINTING United Expo, SCREEN will engage with attendees to demonstrate the promise and productivity of SCREEN Truepress solutions for these markets. For the commercial, direct mail and publication printing markets, SCREEN will feature a flexible lineup including the Truepress JET 560HDX, a high throughput roll-fed digital inkjet press with a 560 mm printing width, the Truepress JET 520HD+ with a 520 mm printing width, and the Truepress JET S320, an A3 sheetfed digital inkjet press.
Not only are these presses uniquely capable of handling high-mix, low-volume production, such as personalized and variable printing, but they can also utilize SCREEN’s proprietary inks. These advanced inks can be applied directly to the coated papers commonly used in the commercial market, enabling printing that captures the natural texture of each paper and ensuring a high level of satisfaction for clients.
For the mailing and transaction markets, SCREEN will feature the Truepress JET 520NX AD. With its ultra-high-speed throughput of up to 225 meters per minute, this system offers the advanced responsiveness needed to meet the short turnaround times required for transaction printing. It also includes JetInspection, SCREEN’s proprietary built-in inspection device, an automatic nozzle cleaning function that reduces operator workload while also improving productivity, and a sophisticated nozzle control function that provides precise quality correction. Together, these features enable the Truepress JET 520NX AD to deliver its renowned print quality.
Label printing solutions
As digital presses become more widely used in the label printing market, there is strong demand for not only improvements in quality, operability and productivity, but for solutions that can provide added value and enhanced compatibility with various media, as well as improved production capabilities for a variety of lot sizes.
SCREEN’s Truepress LABEL 350UV SAI S has received Digital Press System Certification (CRPC7 standard) from Idealliance (International Digital Enterprise Alliance), the US-based provider of the G7+ color management certification. This certification confirms the system’s ability to deliver high productivity as well as stable color management and superior print quality.
The press also offers a wider color gamut thanks to its orange and blue inks and outstanding color reproduction and reliability for repeat printing, as well as user-friendly operation during color matching and printing. This makes it ideal for matching demanding corporate brand colors throughout runs and across jobs. Additionally, the system provides a number of advanced features including high opacity white mode, fade-resistant yellow ink and a digital primer option, enabling it to handle an expanded range of applications.
In 2024, the Truepress LABEL 350UV series surpassed a total of 300 systems shipped. At the venue, SCREEN will display the production volume achievable in a single day of operation on paper rolls using the proven, highly stable Truepress LABEL 350UV SAI S, allowing visitors to experience its realworld performance.
