Main exhibits

■Commercial Printing Solutions
SCREEN will stage a live demonstration of a production application that connects its Truepress Jet520HD+ high-speed, roll-fed inkjet system in-line with a Hunkeler AG cut and stack postpress system. The Truepress Jet520HD+ will use Truepress ink SC+* to enable high-quality commercial printing on offset coated papers.
The demonstration will also incorporate SCREEN’s EQUIOS solution platform to show how front-end data processing can be automated. Visitors will be able to view leaflets, postcards and other items of various sizes produced using this showcase for highly diversified small-lot production.
* With SC+ inks, offset coated papers do not require pre-coating, enabling printing that can fully utilize the textures offered by many different paper types. These inks also provide higher density and more vibrant color expression as well as improved resistance to bleeding and abrasion, making it possible to handle applications that require superior quality.

■Paper Package Printing Solutions
For reasons of sustainability, the packaging industry is increasingly shifting from plastic-based flexible containers to those that use more eco-friendly paper materials. SCREEN will use its booth to stage a demonstration of environmentally conscious production with its Truepress PAC 520P high-speed, water-based inkjet system for paper packaging substrates (provisional exhibit).
The Truepress PAC 520P offers solutions for applications requiring small lot production with rapid turnaround times and stockless production in which the required volumes are printed. The system will be loaded with SCREEN’s new Truepress ink NP. These specialized pigment inks comply with appropriate food-safety guidelines and regulations for paper packaging.

■Partner Booths
SCREEN will also provide rolls of paper printed using its Truepress Jet520HD+ and SC+ inks to Hunkeler AG and Horizon Inc. to support the demonstrations each company plans to stage in its own booth. The preprinted rolls will have control barcodes generated by EQUIOS for postpress laid out on them. These codes enable smoother changeover between jobs during postpress processing.
