Hiragino Fonts Are Newly Available via US, Korean and Taiwanese Web Font Services - Morisawa’s TypeSquare Expands Its Localized Distribution of Hiragino -

November 12, 2018

SCREEN Graphic Solutions Co., Ltd. (SCREEN GA) has finalized arrangements with Morisawa Inc. for its Hiragino fonts to be distributed via the TypeSquare Web font service operated by Morisawa. From November 12, the fonts will be available via each of TypeSquare's localized US, Korean and Taiwanese sites.
SCREEN GA and Morisawa originally announced their plans to increase collaboration in relation to Web fonts in February 2014 and in the same month, Morisawa's TypeSquare service began to distribute the Hiragino typeface within Japan. The new release expands the regional availability of the fonts to include the US, Korea and Taiwan.
The Hiragino font family is a professional typeface that offers both a cool and contemporary vibe and excellent readability. It is bundled with the famous macOS and is used in a wide variety of applications ranging from advertising, publishing and broadcasting to highway signs and other types of signage. It is also increasingly being used for Web fonts.
Customers outside Japan have long called for Hiragino fonts to be made available for use. The expanded service area offered by TypeSquare means customers in the US, Korea and Taiwan are now able to access the Web font service, allowing them to display Hiragino fonts on any Web page.
