The EzPreX is installed as a standard function, enabling the rapid and automatic setting of optimal values for thickness, alignment, threshold and other parameters. The EzPreX uses a proprietary algorithm to achieve extremely quick and accurate setup. The EzTune is also available, allowing the operator to perform final adjustment while viewing the screen. Used together, these functions greatly reduce operator workload.
Defect Verification & Repair System VT 2000 Series
The VT-2000 series includes defect verification and repair systems that display defect data for boards on a monitor, with the aid of inspection data from PI series systems. The series features enhanced operability and makes the condition of the board apparent at a glance. This is achieved by displaying images captured by the camera in a larger format than in previous models and simultaneously displaying the master image and a defect map. Extra units can also be added to existing systems to suit production or verification volume.
- Automatic light source adjustment function
This function automatically adjusts the light intensity to maintain consistent image brightness during zooming, meaning defect inspection is always performed at optimum light levels. Light intensity values for each type of illumination can also be registered as a recipe and controlled based on the board type and defect type.
- Automatic alignment mark registration function
With this function, the camera automatically moves to alignment mark positions to register the marks. This eliminates the need to manually register
alignment marks and greatly increases total inspection throughput.
Package PCB inspection function
This system greatly enhances verification of multiple-piece PCBs such as IC package substrates. When the number of scrapped or faulty pieces in a sheet reaches a specified amount, verification on the sheet can be automatically skipped. Verification of scrapped pieces and sheets on other layers can also be automatically skipped.
High-level measurement function
The VT-1850 is equipped with a proprietary image processing engine developed by Dainippon Screen. It is capable of accurately recognizing the edges of wiring patterns and, as evidenced by the measurement of the impedance coupon, pinpoint accuracy is possible. The VT-1850 is also able to acquire measurement point data based on the original design data when an instruction is received from the CU-9000.

Post-inspection verification of defects can be performed using a network PC. Defect images are displayed as thumbnails in real-time starting with scanned areas, allowing them to be efficiently assessed and classified as accepted or rejected using the mouse. Using this system to sort defects before starting verification in VT series equipment significantly improves processing efficiency and shortens the verification time.
