Kyoto, Japan - September 15, 2017 - SCREEN Graphic Solutions Co., Ltd. (SCREEN GA) and Konica Minolta, Inc. (head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; president: Shoei Yamana) have concluded a joint sales agreement for the distribution of a mid-range digital label press. The Konica Minolta toner-based, on-demand label system is to be marketed under both companies' brand names and will be available primarily in Japan and the wider Asian regional market from this October.

The continuing diversification of consumer preferences in recent years has led to rapid growth in the demand for an ever wider range of product packaging and labels. This trend has also driven major annual expansion in the requirements for small lot, short turnaround work within the label printing industry. In response, printing companies worldwide have been increasingly turning to digital label presses to keep pace with these changes.

SCREEN GA first entered the label printing market in 2013 with the launch of its highly successful Truepress Jet L350UV inkjet system. Since this time, the company has developed a comprehensive total package for its clients that covers from product installation and workflow design through to after-sales support. These services are now available in both Japan and regional markets worldwide. The extensive experience and knowhow acquired by SCREEN GA over its many years in the digital printing market has also enabled it to quickly win the trust of the label printing industry.

SCREEN GA's new venture will see it join with Konica Minolta to market the latter's bizhub PRESS C71cf on-demand label press under both companies' brand names. The system will further enhance SCREEN GA's already impressive lineup of digital label presses, helping it to meet an even wider range of user needs.

SCREEN GA plans to release new versions of the bizhub PRESS C71cf as soon as they become available. The company also intends to further strengthen its cooperative relationship with Konica Minolta in the digital commercial printing field, enabling it to progressively deliver new value to the market. These efforts will likewise help SCREEN GA to develop new products and solutions that meet various emerging needs in the label printing industry, thereby supporting its continuing long-term growth.
