The Current Company's Status Vol. 2

Dainippon Screen Group and its employees express deep condolences for disaster victims of the earthquake and sincerely hope for swift recovery of the people and areas affected by the disaster.

Now the company announces the following information as of March 18, 2011.

1. Situation of group companies and our key suppliers:

We have confirmed that our group, Quartz Lead Co.,(in Fukushima Prefecture. Northeastern Japan), semiconductor manufacturing parts related, reported minor building and equipment damage but not an impact to manufacturing work. Therefore, as soon as recovery works for social and business infrastructure such as electricity and water supplies we will be starting product operation.

Regarding the company's procrastination of parts supply, so far, there will not be affected so much. However, as long as this confusion continues, we keep checking for status for all.

2. Situation of customer service:

Regarding the customer service in Tohoku disaster area, there are some impacts due to the delay of recovery works for transportation and from consideration on the safety.

Under this condition, we would like you to keep your composed manners as you place with us until we restart service as soon as these conditions are satisfactory.

3. Company's Facilities and Employees Impact:

Regarding the company's facilities, the majority of the company's manufacturing facilities for semiconductor/flat panel display/printing equipment, located in Kyoto and Shiga prefectures in southwest Japan have no damage.

We have confirmed that all SCREEN group's employees and their families in the affected area are safe.

4. Influence of Business Result (fiscal year 2011):

We have expected there will be negligible influence of disaster on the fiscal year business result. We plan to disclose information as soon as it enters promptly.
