Kyoto, Japan – October 14, 2016 – SCREEN Holdings Co., Ltd. has announced its support for the Global Compact initiative promoted by the United Nations. The framework is composed of 10 key principles covering the four fields of human rights, labor, the environment and anti-corruption. SCREEN officially registered with the United Nations on October 7, marking the start of its participation in the initiative.
 
The UN Global Compact (UNGC) was first announced by former Secretary-General Kofi Annan in 1999 before being formally launched at the UN Headquarters in 2000. Its principles emphasize independent action by corporate entities and various other organizations as part of a wider international undertaking. Each participant is expected to demonstrate creative, responsible leadership as a valued member of society and, through these actions, to help achieve reliable globalization and the development of a sustainable society. The UNGC has over 14,000 corporate and non-corporate members worldwide.
 
The SCREEN Group is dedicated to the promotion of effective CSR management.
