Advanced Technology

High-speed output

The PlateRite News 2000S+ features a 64-channel light source that makes it possible to image a remarkable 106 plates per hour*. It also offers superior halftone dot reproduction, thanks to its use of thermal plates. What's more, two plates can be loaded onto the drum at once and imaged sequentially. By reducing the number of times plates need to be loaded, dual plate loading further increases productivity.

Securing productivity through technology that answers the strict needs of today’s newspaper industry

Plate loading options to suit your productivity needs

There are four different types of plate loading options available to suit your specific needs. They include a feed tray, semiautomatic loader (no interleaf removal), single-cassette autoloader (with interleaf removal), and multi-cassette autoloader (maximum 3 cassettes, with interleaf removal). If you choose the feed tray to begin with, you can upgrade to an optional autoloader at a later time if your production needs increase.

A variety of plate sizes

The PlateRite News 2000S+ is perfect for pressrooms that use multiple plate sizes. They can output plates for most presses in the B3 to B1 range, with a minimum plate size of 290 x 460 mm (11.5" x 18.2") and a maximum plate size of 980 x 685 mm (38.5" x 26.9"), respectively, for plates ranging from 0.2 mm (7.9 mil) to 0.3 mm (11.8 mil) thick.

Plate auto-balancing takes the burden off operators

The auto-balancing feature of the PlateRite News 2000S+ makes it possible to use different sized plates without making any manual adjustments for correct drum balance. The operator simply selects the desired type of plate, and the PlateRite News 2000S+ automatically makes the necessary adjustments to create perfect drum balance  for each plate size. The PlateRite News 2000S+ also feature separate loading and unloading bays, so that one plate can be readied for loading while another is being exposed.

6 mm clamps

Clamps are used to hold the plate when it is wrapped around the drum. The greater the area that the clamps occupy, the more they infringe on the actual image area, and the greater the risk that they will come in contact with the ink. Since cleaning the clamps takes precious time, there is an advantage to reducing their size, and the PlateRite News 2000S+ do just that by using clamps a mere 6 mm (0.23") in width.

Support for Spekta screening

The PlateRite News 2000S+ support Spekta screening. Spekta combines the strengths of both conventional AM screening methods and advanced FM (stochastic) screening. This makes it possible to produce extraordinary quality with ordinary screen rulings.
All the dots in Spekta screens are slightly randomized so that moiré and visible rosette patterns can never occur. And, by applying FM screening methods to highlights and shadow areas, Spekta produces breathtaking detail and color completely free of jagged edges and broken lines. Spekta screening and the PlateRite News 2000S+ is an unbeatable combination.
