The Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA) hosted its annual SGIA Expo in New Orleans, October 19-21 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. The energy on the trade show floor was phenomenal. Attendees were excited about new, innovative technology in the Screen (USA) booth. We drew crowds of quality-conscious print service providers from all over the United States for the in-booth demonstrations. Most booth visitors had a very specific agenda in mind. It was, “How do I find better quality-producing tools?” They already have done their research and were asking specific questions about the products and technologies they need.
The Truepress 2500UV award-winning grand-format inkjet printer drove high, steady booth traffic thanks to the new multi-layer printing function and see-through graphic capabilities. The Screen exhibit space was packed with creative samples of value-added special effects, high-quality three-dimensional products and stunning display graphics.
A highlight of the three-day event was an awards ceremony held October 19th. A retail display printed by the Truepress Jet2500UV on non-perforated transparent film won an award sponsored by Contra Vision. The display, produced for Wacoal Corp. to promote the manufacturer’s CW-X brand conditioning wear, was singled out in the Contra Vision 3rd International Wrap Artists™ Competition in the “Best Interior Design” category.
