Dainippon Screen Mfg. Co., Ltd. was established in 1943 and has operated as a publicly traded company since 1962. In that time we have earned a strong reputation of trust and integrity among a wide range of customers, stockholders, investors, and business partners in the global communities in which we operate.
Businesses have long been expected to fulfill certain social responsibilities, but now more than ever they are expected to set forth these responsibilities in clear statements of the principles on which the company conducts its business activities.
Based on our established Corporate Philosophy, which emphasizes environmental responsibility, the importance of a healthy and purposeful working life, and the value of technological excellence, Dainippon Screen is now establishing a Charter of Ethics with an accompanying Code of Conduct that are intended to ensure Screen continues to evolve as an organization of the highest business ethics and principles.
In the process of implementing the Charter of Ethics, all Screen directors and employees will be required to deepen their understanding and awareness of business ethics. In particular, members of the Board of Directors, including myself, will be required to assume ultimate responsibility for ensuring the full implementation of the Charter of Ethics.
In the event of any breach of the principles set forth in the Charter of Ethics or the Code of Conduct, direct responsibility for resolving the breach will reside with the appointed Ethics Officer. The cause or causes of the breach will be identified and those involved will be treated in accordance with the principles of strictness, impartiality, and fairness. All pertinent information concerning this process will be made public in order to ensure full transparency. The Ethics Officer will also be responsible for implementing measures to prevent the recurrence of similar breaches. In this way we recognize ethical business behavior as an ongoing process to which we intend to apply our longstanding principle of continuous improvement. |
