Wet Station WS-820-C receives Best Product Award for 1996
Prestigious recognition from users and leading semiconductor journal

Kyoto, February 21, 1997 --- The Wet station WS-820-C, a modular-designed wafer processing line from Dainippon Screen Mfg. Co., Ltd., (headquarters: Kamigyo-ku, Kyoto; president: Akira Ishida), was judged one of the industry's 20 top products for 1996. In December, the editors of Semiconductor International, America's premier semiconductor industry journal, announced that the WS-820-C had won one of the year's coveted Best Product Awards, the only Japanese product to be so honored.

Semiconductor International is one of the most respected and influential industry magazines in the international arena. Each year its editors identify a number of key technologies that are driving progress in the semiconductor world and recognize the top 20 products in these fields with Best Product Awards based entirely on user testimonials.

The four key technologies of 96 were wafer processing, photolithography, inspection & measurement, and assembly & packaging. And the WS-820-C was chosen by users "as one of the 20 outstanding performers in their semiconductor manufacturing operations." Praised for its advanced automation and regulatory accuracy, the WS-820-C is a modular cleaning line for 8 inch wafers featuring exceptionally stable processing, high productivity, and flexible configuration.

Screen is extremely proud to have received such a prestigious award, especially since it directly reflects the satisfaction and approval of the many American semiconductor manufacturers now using the WS-820-C.
